The Other Side Of Your Face
A visit to Venice got me interested in the whole concept of masks. The Venetian ones are very decorative, very beautiful, but they can sometimes be just a little sinister, and have a frisson of danger about them. They got me pondering on the whole subject of concealment and revelation, the face we show to the world, and what we try to keep hidden. It has set me off in a whole new direction, and this piece is just one of a whole series in the making.
